Water main repair

This job was to find the source of a leaking water main.

We cut a square in the tarmac with a petrol spinner and broke out with a small breaker. Then excavated down to a depth of 500mm and found the 25mm mdpe watermain pipe which had not been previously installed with enough pipe or inserts to facilitate a tight coupling.

After isolated the water from the main stop cock, we cut a small section of the pipework out and installed two new 25mm couplings with a new section of pipe, tightened up and tested.

Once tested, we back filled up to level and laid tarmac to finish.
